An accountability court on Monday reserved its judgement in an application filed by former MPA Chaudhry Hakim Ali. He had prayed to order return of property confiscated by the court in his absence.
The counsel of the applicant contended before the court that his client wanted to appear before the court but the respondent NAB official restrained him from appearing before the court, and the court ordered confiscation of his property. He, therefore, prayed to the court to allow his application.
The court, after hearing petitioner's counsel at length, reserved its verdict till April 3.
The accused is facing the charges of corruption and making illegal money in excess of his income.
APPLICATION DISPOSED OF: Another accountability court disposed of an application filed by a former XEN of Irrigation Department Manzoor Qayyum. He had prayed to the court to call relevant record pertaining to the reference being faced by him.
The court, while disposing of the application, observed that the applicant could manage the record himself if he wanted to get support from the same.
The accused is facing the charges of corruption and making illegal money in excess of his income. He is also facing the charges of misusing his office.
REMAND EXTENDED: Another accountability court extended physical remand of former customs department official Aslam Shad till April 13, and rose for the day.
The court passed these orders over the request of the special prosecutor who contended before the court that the NAB officials wanted to interrogate the accused further.
