To celebrate the spring festival, Mobilink and Capital Development Authority (CDA) jointly organised a pop music show for the residents of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Saturday night.
Thousands that thronged the Shakarparian open air theatre gyrated and swung to the beat of the music, as some of the most well known music bands of the country entertained them in an event billed as "Jazz battle of the bands."
The music show was arranged as a grand finale to the two-week long spring festival celebrated in the capital this year. There were number of other activities organised over the period of the festival.
The music groups performing during the show included Strings, E.P, Fuzon, Noori, Najam Sheraz, Ali Sher, Shehzad Roy, Haroon, Yasir Akhter and Shiraz Uppal. These singers could easily be termed as a true reflection of Pakistan's music scene and are very popular among our younger generation.
President and CEO Mobilink, Zouhair A Khaliq said that company's pre paid brand 'jazz' has always been very closely associated with the young generation and the sponsorship of the event had again expressed the company's desire to be associated with healthy activities that involve the youth.
He also praised Chairman CDA Kamran Lashari for successfully organising the Spring Festival 2004.
Kamran Lashari in his remarks said that contribution of the corporate sector was vital for beautifying the city as well as providing opportunities to the residents to have access to entertainment and fun.
