The City Nazim, Naimatullah Khan has resented the decision of Sindh government pertaining to the change of status of certain posts.
In a letter to the Sindh Chief Secretary, the Nazim mentioned that certain posts on the strength of CDGK Group of Officers had been suddenly declared as APUG/Ex-PCS and PSS posts without taking the city Nazim or CDGK into confidence.
These posts included Director Finance, Malir Development Authority, Director Finance, Lyari Development Authority, Secretary, KW&SB, Deputy Managing Director, KW&SB, and Deputy Managing Director (Admin), KW&SB.
The Nazim contended in his letter that these posts were budgeted and were on the schedule of establishment of the respective Group of Officers of CDGK, existing on departmental basis.
Referring to SLGO, 2001 he objected that he should have been taken into confidence prior to the decision, giving full explanation of such a rearrangement.
"In case the City Nazim is not consulted in such internal administration matters then it is likely to hamper the smooth working and control of the civic affairs", he complained.
Moreover, he illustrated that such abrupt and illogical measures were likely to adversely affect the efforts of CDGK, directed to address the problems of the city and said that the decision could be a source of unrest among the officers.
In view of the position explained in letter, he requested for immediate withdrawal of the order in the best interest of smooth working of CDGK.
He further raised objection about the terms "competent authority" on the part of the Chief Secretary Office in Sindh province and contended that instead, Chief Minister was supposed to be the competent authority as being the chief executive of the province and asked the office to clarify it for future reference.
