"The heckling by the Opposition members during President Musharraf's maiden speech in Parliament really unnerved him, didn't it? I mean this was the first time I saw him unnerved. And he was perspiring...for all the world to see."
"He wasn't wearing his uniform that's why. I mean had he been wearing a uniform."
"I saw many uniforms sitting in the visitors' gallery though so he did have his constituency there so to speak."
"But he isn't used to this kind of uncivilised behaviour."
"No! But then he should have stayed away from politics. Haven't you ever seen poodle in parliament? He has to put up with a lot worse."
"But you are right. I never saw him that unnerved ever before. I mean not even when he unseated Mian Sahib did he seem so unnerved. I mean that was a big step and he must have been scared about what the politicians and people would do - I mean it was against the constitution and all and he could have been in serious trouble for it."
"Not in our country! When has a military man ever suffered the consequences of a coup?"
"Besides he did get all the corps commanders on board before moving in as the Chief Executive."
"I thought they moved in his support before he did. He was in that plane wasn't he?"
"Talking of planes what happened to these planes carrying opposition members of parliament that were reportedly diverted to Peshawar and not allowed to land in Islamabad for more than seven and a half hours. I believe many people on that flight became sick - they should really sue whoever is responsible?"
"Maybe the evergreen litigator of Lahore, what's his name, should take up their case."
"Maybe but then had Mian Sahib diverted the plane to Peshawar he might still be the head of parliament you think?"
"Nah, he couldn't have done that! That plane didn't have enough fuel to go anywhere but India I believe."
"Don't be stupid, the plane could have made it to Hyderabad or somewhere on Pakistani soil but away from the Karachi airport."
"And you think there would have been no contingent of our armed forces there?"
"Ah, I see what you mean. But heads should really roll for the diversion of these two planes."
"Don't think they will. The entire world now knows about our new and improved democracy."
