The President of PTCL, Akhtar Ahmed Bajwa has directed the officials to take all possible steps for immediate redressal of problems of telephone customers and ensure, on an emergency basis, the provision of better service.
He was chairing a high level meeting held at PTCL south region headquarter here on Monday, in which the performance of last six months was reviewed.
The general managers of Sindh and Balochistan briefed the meeting about targets for providing new telephone connections and recovery of revenue of the last six months.
He emphasised the need for chalking out a strategy for providing fastest telecommunication facilities so as to counter the future challenges.
Akhtar Bajwa directed the general manager development to gearup the pace of development works so that targets of new connections for next year could be met, and particularly the situation concerning defects in network in Karachi be preferentially focussed.
The PTCL president particularly expressed displeasure over large number of faulty telephones in New Karachi and issued directives for their immediate rectification.
On the occasion Executive Vice-President (Operation) South, Mohammed Iqbal Waseem briefed the president about situation of faulty telephones as well as the ongoing development projects.
The meeting was attended by Senior Executive Vice-President (Operations) Captain Zahir Mohammed Khan, SEVP (Business Development) Mashkoor Hussain, EVP (Operations) Headquarter Tanvir Ahmed, Chief Engineer Muzaffar Ali, General Managers Nafees Ahmed Siddiqi, Z. A. Tunio, Shamsher Ali Khan, Murid Ali Shah, Ghulam Rasool Mangi, Moamar Shahzada, Saeed Ahmed, Akhtar Bajwa and zonal directors of Sindh and Balochistan.
The meeting reviewed the pace of ongoing development works and chalked out planning for expediting the same.
The president PTCL directed that grant of new telephone connections must be accelerated through open kutcheries in different exchanges and in this regard maximum facilities be provided to the people.
