601 Pakistanis in Afghan prisons

As many as 601 Pakistani prisoners are detained in Afghan prisons and 540 of them are imprisoned in Shabargan prison.
According to a foreign ministry report, the detention of Pakistani prisoners is a matter of grave concern and Pakistan government is in touch with Kabul.
As a result of inadequate funds, the diplomatic staff at the foreign embassies was short.
Some of the embassies do not even have third secretaries.
The ministry has raised the issue with the finance ministry but so far there was no positive response from the latter, the report said.
