Sardar Muhammad Ashraf Khan has challenged his removal from the Chairmanship of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry's (FPCCI's) Standing Committee on Privatisation by FPCCI President Riaz Ahmed Tata.
Sardar Ashraf is also the Director, Corporate Industrial Restructuring Corporation, and member, Central Credit Advisory Committee, State Bank of Pakistan.
In a letter to Tata on January 6, Sardar Ashraf pointed out that "the constitution/articles of association of the FPCCI did not give you any power to remove anybody without getting it approved from the managing committee.
"Even your Secretary General is occupying this position illegally without the approval of the managing committee and I am afraid you will be personally responsible and will have to bear the cost expenses of the so-called Secretary General for his illegal period," he said.
He further said: "I think your decision-making capacity has been affected badly and you are being used by the vested interests, who have taken the shape of plunderers mafia in the FPCCI.
"They are bent upon to destroy you personally and exploit your resources as much as they can till you use your utility for them," he said.
"While contesting your authority to do so at this stage, I am here to bring on record that you have done this only to show your vindictiveness as I have reminded you of your responsibilities and commitments.
"You have already lost your promoters, now you have taken shelter with your arch rivals, if not sworn enemies. Whether you like it or not, the truth about your resignation is written on the wall and it will keep haunting you forever," he said.
