imageSYDNEY: The Canberra Raiders came from 10 points down in the second half to over-run the Canterbury Bulldogs 32-20 in Australia's National Rugby League on Sunday.

The Raiders trailed 10-20 midway through the second half before finishing over the top of the under-strength Canterbury with four unanswered tries.

The win lifted Ricky Stuart's Raiders into sixth place, one point behind the Bulldogs, who were without key players Josh Morris, Josh Jackson and David Klemmer on NSW State of Origin duties and Mormon Will Hopoate out for religious reasons.

Only four games were scheduled for this weekend's round ahead on Wednesday's opening State of Origin game against Queensland in Sydney.

The weakened Brisbane Broncos went down 19-18 to Wests Tigers at home.

The Tigers belied their lowly 13th place on the standings to hold off the Broncos to claim their first win in Brisbane for six years.

It was the Broncos' second consecutive loss and they were without their Queensland Origin representatives, Corey Parker, Sam Thaiday, Josh McGuire, Matt Gillett, Darius Boyd and Corey Oates, while the Tigers were missing NSW Origin pair Aaron Woods and Robbie Farah.

St George Illawarra held on for a 14-10 win over depleted champions North Queensland in Wollongong.

The Dragons led 10-0 early, but the Cowboys missing their five State of Origin stars Johnathan Thurston, Michael Morgan, Matt Scott, James Tamou and Justin O'Neill, hit back and went down by four points in the end.

Bottom team Newcastle Knights host the troubled Parramatta Eels on Monday.
