Technological advances are becoming a norm these days, but sometimes this gets a little bit weirder i.e. smartphone controlling jacket.
According to BGR, tech giant Google, which has been quite active recently has partnered with Levi’s, denim jeans company, and have developed a new jacket that allow users interact with their smartphones, just by swiping the garment in various ways.
Goggle-Levi’s latest the ‘Commuter Trucker Jacket’, is made for cyclists, who are busy riding and concentrating on their surroundings, then to get smartphones into their pockets.
As per IANS, Levi's describes the technology in a press statement, "It all starts with a conductive yarn woven into the fabric - in the same way traditional materials are made - to create an interactive textile that links seamlessly with services and applications through interactive touch.”
Now, how it works, the statement added, “The digital connectivity is provided through a smart tag, and apart from this detachable tag, the whole interactive garment is washable and durable like regular denim. Simple inputs like swipes or taps on the jacket can connect to the device's functionality.”
With the help of this jacket you could “control music and silence calls, where the touch then registers wirelessly to a phone or tablet.”
It added that the garment is powered by Google’s Project Jacquard technology that is developed by search engine Advanced Technology and Projects Group.
