ISLAMABAD: Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Maulana Fazl ur Rehman has said that Kashmir dispute is a threat for durable peace and prosperity of the South Asian region.
Talking to official media on Wednesday, he said the world should take steps to resolve this lingering dispute on the United Nations agenda according to the wishes of the people of Kashmir.
He said Pakistan has always supported dialogue with the government of India as wars are no solution to the problems. He said Pakistan is a peaceful nation and wanted good relations with all its neighbors.
Maulana Fazal ur Rehman said Pakistan believes that use of force, coercion and violation of basic human rights by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir can never succeed in suppressing an indigenous struggle for a just cause. He said Pakistani nation stands with Kashmiris for observing the Kashmir Day on February 5 for raising their voice for a just cause.
