imageISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain Thursday said Scouting can play a vital role in character development of youth and promoting their physical, mental and spiritual development to make them useful and good citizens.

He was talking to a delegation of Rose Scouts (Girls Group) from Lyari, Karachi headed by Ms. Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani, Chief Commissioner, Pakistan Boy Scouts Association (PBSA) that called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The President hoped that Rose Group will provide opportunities for the development of girls and young women, so as to make them confident, patriotic and law abiding citizens capable of performing their duties in the home, as well as community and the country.

The President expressed confidence that Rose Group will empower girls and young women who can work as agents of change to build a better Pakistan and world.

The President hoped that the girl scouts will create awareness about girl education and peace in Lyari and spread this message all over Pakistan to promote health and well being of all women and families.

He urged the Scouts to be more active and vibrant and work for unity, peace and solidarity and share their experiences and vision with each other.

The President called upon educational institutions of the country to continue extending their full support to the promotion of this movement.

President Mamnoon commended the Scouts fraternity, especially the scouts of Pakistan, for their continued services to the humanity and also for serving as a source of inspiration to the young people.

The President assured Pakistan Boy Scouts Association and all scouts of the country of full support and patronage in furtherance of their noble mission.

The President wished the scouting movement greater success and hoped that it would become an important vehicle for promoting peace, progress and harmony in the country.
