ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanvir Hussain has said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's reconciliation policy in political crisis have helped the country to move forward and caused strengthening of democracy.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, Rana Tanvir Hussain said that after coming into power, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been playing the role of "statesman".
He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif always took those decisions which were in favor of people of Pakistan as well as country.
"Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif personal appeal to the MQM and JUI-F to withdraw their motions in the Parliament to de-seat PTI lawmakers was a great gesture by him as national leader.
He said that decision by MQM and JUI-F to withdraw motions to de-seat PTI MNAs was a bright chapter and democratic process and institutions would further strengthen in coming days.
To a question, he said that when PML-N came into power, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wrote a letter to Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq and requested him to constitute a committee for electoral reforms so that fair and transparent elections can be held in future.
"PTI was also part of this committee but it did not attend even a single meeting in this regard. Today democracy is strengthening in the country and we want PTI members to come in the Parliament, show maturity and play their role for betterment of the country", he added.
He said that PTI members should sit and think what blunders they committed in past and they should avoid these mistakes in future.
Talking about Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's one day visit to Quetta, he said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif performed the ground breaking of three important development projects in Quetta. These included Mangi Dam, Balochistan Agriculture University and Flyover on Smungli Road.
He said that the major issue of people of Quetta was water in the city and hoped that completion of Mangi Dam project would help resolve issue of water in the city.
