ISLAMABAD: A delegation of the Engro fertilizers called on Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar here on Sunday.
The delegation felicitated the Finance Minister on the agreement reached with traders associations/members of the business community, amicably resolving the issue regarding withholding tax on banking transactions, a statement said.
The delegation also apprised the Minister about Engro's production plan and its contribution to the national exchequer.
The Minister appreciated Engro fertilizers contribution and its efforts to meet the requirement for fertilizers in the agri-sector in the country, which he said was the most important sector of the economy.
The government had a resolve to promote tax culture in the country and desired all sectors to play their due role towards achieving this objective, the minister added.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Finance attended the meeting.
