ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Senator Kamran Michael has said that the government is encouraging investors and exporters for "Halal Meat Industry as there is huge demand of Halal meat in international market.
Michael, in a statement here Tuesday, said that the government had exempted the investors and industrialists from all kinds of import and export taxes.
The minister said that the exporters, who got clearance from export bureau and launch their Halal meat Industry till 2016, twould be exempted from taxes for next four years.
Michael said that Central Asian States were earning $ 3 trillion only through Halal meat sector while Pakistan earned least from this sector. However, the government was paying special heed to promote this sector, he added.
The minister said that the lives of local fishermen would be changed with the commercial exports of fish from Gwadar port.
Michael said that for the first time, Baloch anglers would be benefitted directly through this export.
Kamran Michael said that the foreign exchange reserves have started increasing with export of deep sea water fish.
He said that the government was taking special steps for expanding the export of fish at maximum level.
