RAWALPINDI: Chairman Metro Bus Project (MBP) Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Friday said that multi-billion metro bus project is near to completion.
He directed the contractors to pace up work on the project so that the public service project could be inaugurated at the earliest. He, however, did not confirm the date and venue of inauguration of the project.
He was inspecting the Rawalpindi-Islamabad metro bus route alongwith Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed and saw construction work at different stations.
Abbasi termed the project a remarkable initiative of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, who realized the hardships of the commuters of the twin cities.
He said the journey of Metro project starting from Lahore is continuing successfully and soon the residents of the twin cities will benefit the gift of Metro bus service.
The commissioner pointed out weak areas of the construction and directed the concerned to complete the work with dedication and to satisfaction.
