imageQUETTA: Two more polio cases were reported from different areas of Balochistan here on Thursday mounting the number of polio cases surfaced in 2014 to 19, Health sources confirmed.

District Health Officer Naseerabad Abdul Manan said that 14-year old girl Husna Bibi living in Dera Murad Jamali area was found polio affected. The UNICEF official when contacted contended that the polio affected girl was a nomad.

Second polio case was detected in a 9 months old Naseema, resident of UC Daman Asakzai in Killa Abdullah district of the province.

" It is a low transmission season in which a large number of families leave for warm places" Dr Jawahir Habib, UNICEF Communication Expert said adding that taking the edge, the health teams could escalate their efforts to cover up maximum number of children to fully eradicate the polio virus from Balochistan.
