england LONDON: England, after losing the toss, declared their first innings on 474 for eight against India on the second day of the first Test at Lord's here on Friday.

Kevin Pietersen made 202 not out, with India medium-pacer Praveen Kumar taking a Test-best five wickets for 106 runs.

This is the first of a four-Test series.
