imageISLAMABAD: The leaders of mainstream political parties have said that the sit-in being held by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has no future as it is only causing disgrace to him.

Talking to APP on Thursday, they said a person, who lives in a 300 kanal house, did not look good when he talked about ending VIP culture in the country.

They said Imran could not change the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister House into university and instead increased its budget by Rs. 75 million.

They said the Pakistan Muslim League-N and Pakistan People's Party came into power through people's votes and Imran Khan's argument that the two parties were taking turns for power, was an insult to the public mandate.

Provincial Secretary Information of Awami National Party Mian Iftikhar Hussain said the sit-in of Imran Khan had no future. No common people were seen on the container, where Imran Khan was flanked by his sons and other VIPs, he added.

He said Imran Khan wanted to spread anarchy in the country and his statements had damaged Pakistan's image abroad.

Those, who were raising slogan of "Naya Pakistan", should study the history of United States and Britain as they did not know political history, he added.

Iftikhar said in the last one and a half year, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government did not start any development work in the province.

Even the projects started by the previous government were continuing slowly which showed the failure of PTI government, he added.

Central leader of PPP Abdul Akbar Khan said seeking resignation of Prime Minister was a wrong demand.

Only elites were taking part in the sit-in and there was no presence of labourers, farmers and poor people at the venue, he added.

"Mostly the poor normally stage sit-ins but in the sit-in of PTI, elite class comes for leisure of two to three hours in the evening and then returns back to home."

Abdul Akbar said Imran Khan and other PTI leaders had no understanding of politics. "Imran Khan raises the slogan of a Naya Pakistan, but he has done nothing to make a new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where PTI is in power now," he added.

Due to the neglect of KPK government, 80 per cent development budget of the province remained unspent and no projects were undertaken in the districts, he remarked.

He said Imran Khan himself was doing hereditary politics by standing with his two sons on the container.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and ministers were busy at sit-in in Islamabad when people were facing difficulties in getting their problems resolved, he added.

The PTI leadership, he said, was not concerned about problems of people. The sit-ins were a civilized way to protest but the PTI's sit-in was devoid of moral values as the leadership was using unparliamentary language against others, he added.
