ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Commerce, Khurram Dastgir Khan strongly condemned attack on state institutions buildings including Parliament and Pakistan Television Corporation by the activists of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI).
"The attacks on the Parliament building and PTV has exposed the so called claims of champions of change, revolution and democracy", he said in a statement issued here on Monday.
He said that the claims of both the parties of peaceful marches have also been exposed due to these attacks on state institutions adding that they have lost their democratic rights.
Khurram Dastgir said that democratically elected government of prime minister Nawaz Sharif accepted the right of opposition with open heart but they exploited and misused the Prime Minister's good gesture.
He said that by attacking the national symbolic institutions like parliament and PTV the protestors and their leaders considered themselves above the law and constitution.
The Commerce minister said that the purpose of their protest was not for bringing reforms and change but resorted to sabotage the constitution to grab power.
He further said that the government wanted to resolve the political crisis through dialogue with the opponents.
He said that the government would not allow the stick carrying protestors to take the people hostage.
