Mass Transit Train plan for Rawalpindi need of the hour; Governor Punjab

Latif-KhosaRAWALPINDI: Punjab Governor, Latif Khosa has appreciated the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (RCCI) plan to overcome the transportation problems between the twin cities said president, RCCI Syed Ali Raza Saeed Shah.

He said that meeting with Punjab governor Latif Khosa was very successful. He said that the governor said mass Transit Train system in Rawalpindi has become a need of the hour and project would be initiated soon after the consultation with Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.

Ali Raza said the governor has assured us that feasibility report of the mass Transit Train will be discussed with the Prime Minister in next meeting and he himself will convince the Prime Minister to commence the project as soon as possible.

The governor said that establishment of Economic Zone in Rawalpindi region would help promote industrial activities and also generate the employment opportunities, he added.

RCCI keeping in view of the situation started work on the project and workable feasibility report was formulated, he said.

He urged the government to make efforts for the implementation of the project within shortest possible time so that the public transport, environmental and traffic problems could be solved on priority.
