imageISLAMABAD: Former leg-spinner Abdul Qadir wants Pakistan team to be a match finisher in the ODI series against Sri Lanka saying players should play with confidence and courage forgetting the loss of the Test series.

Pakistan will play three ODI matches against Sri Lanka with the first ODI starting from August 23. However Pakistan has lost the two matches test series against Sri Lanka.

Talking to APP, Qadir said the Green-Shirts are one of the dangerous team of the world when it comes to winning games. "Our players need to improve their discipline and should play with commitment and dedication," he said.

Qadir said with the inclusion of Sarfraz Ahmed in the Test squad the batting line-up has improved. "Pakistan has an edge over Sri Lanka when it comes to bowling," he said.

Asian Bradman Zaheer Abbas disappointed on the national team's performance in the Test series against Sri Lanka said the main reason for our team's defeat in the series is inconsistency in batting. "In one innings our batsmen score 451 runs and in the next they are bowled out on 180 runs in the first test," he said.

Zaheer said the way our batsmen faced spin bowling was looking as if they didn't know how to play it. "I wasn't expecting such a bad performance from the Pakistan side. The way Pakistan team prepared here in the training camps prior to the tour to Sri Lanka seemed like they would go there and whitewash the Test series but Pakistan team has let us down," he said.

Zaheer while praising Sri Lankan bowler Rangana Herath said Herath proved to be an excellent bowler in the Test series but I am really shocked that our batsmen could tackle his bowling.
