imageKARACHI: Five-member delegation of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has left for India to attend seminars and meetings in various cities. These programs are being organised by Federation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME), said a KCCI release here on Tuesday. Led by Vice President KCCI, Muhammad Idrees, the KCCI delegation comprises Chairman, KCCI's international affairs sub-committee Junaid Esmail Makda, Chairman, KCCI fairs, exhibitions and trade delegations sub-committee, Naveed Farooki, customs and valuation sub-committee-KCCI, Muhammad Saqib and public sector utilities, power and gas sub-committee, Shehzad Mobeen.

KCCI delegation will visit Amritsar, New Delhi, Guragaon and Bangalore during their six-day tour of India besides B2B meetings and visits to industrial zones in India.

The delegation will also get an opportunity to see the development achieved in information technology in that country during their visit to Guragaon, which is well-known for being IT hub of India where most of the international leading IT companies including Microsoft have established their work-stations. Commenting on KCCI delegation's visit to India , President KCCI Aamir Abdullah Zaki said that Karachi Chamber has always advocated for strengthening ties between the business communities of the two countries. KCCI has been doing all possible to enhance interaction between Indo-Pak business communities.

He mentioned that although Indo-Pak trade volume during FY 2013 improved to $ 2 billion but it was still too low and needed to be promoted.

He also expressed concerns over sizeable informal trade between the two countries which must be addressed by effectively dealing with bottlenecks in formal trade.
