LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Monday granted bail to a senior engineer, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, involved in two cases of Rs 530 million gas theft.
The division bench comprising Justice Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi and Justice Aalia Neelum was hearing the matter.
Senior Engineer, Muhammad Waheed Saani through his application submitted that he was a member of the raiding party who caught gas theft of Rs 530 million in Yousaf Plastic Factory and AWS Traders in Sheikhupura. However, the Federal Investigation Agency also arrested him for an alleged role in theft, he added.
The petitioner contended that he was innocent but roped in the case without any evidence. He pleaded the court to grant him bail in the matter.
The bench after hearing the arguments of the parties granted bail to the accused.
