LAHORE: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has appreciated Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's offer to the Taliban for dialogue and the constitution of a four member committee for the purpose, and termed it a positive development.
In a statement here on Wednesday, he said it was a positive sign that the government had realized the importance of dialogue. He expressed the hope that the Taliban would also take this offer seriously.
He added that the Prime Minister had taken a correct stance at the floor of the National Assembly. He said it was imperative that all the sections of the society took this stance seriously.
Besides, he said, it was now the national duty of the analysts on the media and TV channels to support this Premier in this respect as a token of national unity and harmony so that the enemy agenda could be foiled.
