imageJAKARTA: Indonesia's annual inflation grew at a slightly faster pace in December than November, due to high food and transportation prices for year-end holidays, the statistics bureau said on Thursday.

The consumer price index rose 8.38 percent on an annual basis, from 8.37 percent in November. The December pace was well below Bank Indonesia's estimate of 9-9.8 percent for full-year 2013 inflation.

Inflation in 2013 was nearly double 2012's rate of 4.3 percent.

The median in a Reuters poll was for December's inflation at 8.31 percent.
