imagePESHAWAR: Pakistan Tahrik e Insaf Chairman Imran Khan Wednesday inaugurated anti polio campaign by administering Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) to children at Akora Khattak Hospital in Nowshera district.

Imran Khan along with the Chief Minister Khyber Pakthunkhwa Pervez Khattak administered anti polio drops to children under five years of age. PTI Secretary General Jehagir Tarin and Advisor to CM on Excise and Taxation, Mian Jamshedudin also administered vaccination to children on this occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Imran Khan said polio was a crippling disease that could be eradicated by vaccination children constantly and regularly. He said polio disease has been wiped out almost in the world and time was not for away when our country would get polio free status.

He urged people to cooperate with Government to protect our children from permanent disabilities. Khan also paid glowing tributes to anti Polio workers for their determination and hard work by visiting door to door for vaccination of children despite security threats. He said nation held sacrifices rendered by anti polio workers and police in line of duties in high esteem and would not go waste.

He urged people and guardians to bring their children to nearest hospitals and Basic Health Units if anti polio workers did not arrive to their home for some reason.
