Power shortfall dips to 4,795 MW
ISLAMABAD: The electricity shortfall in the country Saturday dipped to 4,795 MW from 5,789 MW as the total power generation was recorded as 13,286 MW against the demand of 18,081 MW during the last 24 hours.
According to the brief on daily power generation and load-management position, the hydel generation stood at 4,994 MW, WAPDA thermal 1,854 MW, IPPs 6,267 MW and Rental 171 MW.
As many as 650 MW was supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), the report further said.
The power demand has significantly increasing due to shooting up mercury level in the country.
The water level at Tarbela and Mangla dams was recorded as 1425.25 feet and 1149.60 feet with water inflow of 159,500 cusecs and 80,480 cusecs respectively.
