KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, on Friday visited a local hospital and inquired about the welfare of those who sustained injuries in the recent bomb blast in Quetta.

A CM House statement said that he also directed Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi, to arrange a lodging nearest to the hospital for the relatives and attendants of the injured.

Talking to media persons, Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that a number of people lost their lives in the tragic incident at Quetta while many others were injured.

He said that the government would arrange treatment of the injured from its own resources.

Chief Minister further pointed out that "We are pursuing the policy of reconciliation of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto as well as the policy of cooperation and coordination given by President Asif Ali Zardari."

He said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) remained our ally and friend and there were talks with them yesterday as well and that we will try to remove their reservations.

Qaim Ali Shah said that the Sindh Peoples Local Government Act 2012 has been withdrawn keeping in view the aspirations and demands of the people and that the Sindh Local Government Ordinance 1979 has been restored so that the problems of the people could be solved.

He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has taken this decision under its political programme and not under pressure from any opponent party.

The Chief Minister made it very clear that there was no question of the division of Sindh and that there is no danger to the province.

He said that it was not fair to provoke the sentiments of the people through baseless assertions.

He further pointed out that the previous position of Karachi will remain in vogue.
