KARACHI: Pakistan Rupee showed a mixed behaviour in interbank market against USD while gaining value in open market against USD, Euro, AED and SR. INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 70 paisas for buying and lost 20 paisas for selling against USD over Wednesday's rates closing at 163.30 and 164.70 respectively. OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 50 paisas for buying and 80 paisas for selling against USD over Wednesday's rates closing at 163 and 163.70 respectively. Against Euro, PKR gained 2 rupees for both buying and selling closing at 179 and 181 respectively. Against UAE Dirham, PKR gained 60 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 43.40 and 43.80 respectively. Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 60 paisas for both buying and selling as well closing at 42.40 and 42.80 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth versus major currencies including the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Thursday.
Following lack of buyers' interest in the market, the greenback could not hold its day earlier recoveries and ended lower for buying and selling at Rs 163.50 and Rs 164.80 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 164.00 and Rs 165.50 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Similarly, the national currency also followed the suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 201.50 and Rs 203.70 against the Wednesday's closing trend of Rs 202.00 and Rs 204.00 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee gained 50 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.
The dollar opened at Rs164 (buying) and Rs 164.10 (selling) against last rate of Rs164.50 (buying) and Rs 164.60(selling).
It closed at Rs164 (buying) and Rs 164.10 (selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold were Rs 105,700 (selling) and Rs 107,500 (buying) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
