gas pipeline 400DUBAI: The gas pipeline feeding Yemen's only liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal was blown up again in the early hours of Tuesday morning, the operating company said in a statement.

Yemen's oil and gas pipelines have been repeatedly sabotaged since anti-government protests created a power vacuum in 2011 that armed groups have exploited, causing fuel shortages and slashing export earnings for the impoverished country.

"Yemen LNG confirms the sabotage of the 38 inch gas pipeline that links the block 18 to the Balhaf terminal on the Gulf of Aden," the company said.

The latest explosion occurred about 35 km north of the Balhaf Liquefaction Plant on the Gulf of Aden run by France's Total.
