What education sector expects?
Despite an increase in the 2016-17 education budget Pakistan’s current expenditure on education is the lowest in South Asia.
The report, ‘Public Financing of Education in Pakistan and Agenda for Education Budget 2016-17’, was launched by the Institute of Social and Policy Sciences (I-SAPS).
The government will miss the mark to accomplish the ambitious goal of spending 4 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on education budget by the year 2018, according to the reports.
All this indicate that it is impossible for the government to fulfill the goal of spending 4 percent of GDP on education by 2018.
On government’s achievements, now, after 4 years, we see record number of new businesses being registered in the country; load shedding has ended for industrial consumers and would soon be eliminated totally.
