imageLAHORE: The Punjab Assembly on Friday has approved, 43 demands for grants of over Rs 181.140 billion and Rs 65.45 billion under the head of subsidies demands for grant.

The session started at 9:30 am against the scheduled time of 9:00 am with speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan in the chair.

Provincial Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha while responding to a question posed by MPA Khadija Umar said that provision of best facilities in health sector was the top priority of the government.

She said the government wanted to provide health facilities to the masses at their door step and the government has started the vaccination programme as proactive measure.

She said that betterment of health facilities in Punjab could be evaluated as patients from Kyber Pakthunkhwa and other provinces were referred to Punjab.

"We want to see other provinces providing good health facilities in their hospitals as being provided in hospitals of the Punjab,"she added.

Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashhood Khan while responding to a cut motion, said that promotion of education was a movement and the government wanted to provide the same facilities in government schools as available in private schools.

He said that missing facilities have been provided in 90 percent schools under a five year programme, adding that opposition was giving wrong facts and figures regarding out of school children.

The minister said that the enrolment rate in schools has been increased from 90,000 to 12.5 million in eight years, adding that by 2018 there would be no child out of school.

The house with majority rejected the cut motion presented by opposition on education.

Seven adjournment motion were read out in the house which were deferred for one week due to no answer.

The session was adjourned till Monday 11:00 am.
