ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a bail plea filed by Umar Farooq involved in kidnapping for ransom.
The court directed the provincial law officers to ensure their presence in the court on next date of hearing. The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case.
During the course of proceedings, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) apprised the court about the investigation in the case.
The court expressed annoyance over FIA report and asked why week charge sheet was filed against accused as it had all evidences in the case.
Justice Azmat Saeed remarked that if provincial law officers failed to appeared before court then the Chief Secretaries, Secretaries of Interior and law would have to argue in the cases.
The FIA officials arrested the accused from court room after dismissal of his bail plea.
Later, hearing of the case was adjourned for an indefinite period.
