An-11 member delegation of diplomats from the Association of South East Nations (Asean), who are under training at the Foreign Services Academy in Islamabad on Thursday visited the Punjab University as part of their training.
They held a meeting with vice-chancellor of the university and were briefed on the university's research and academic activities.
Moreover, Arshad told the diplomats that new courses and departments had been launched, keeping in view the market trends, while the curricula of all disciplines had been updated.
PU had established largest IT centre of the country-College of Information and Technology, while university was the first one to conceive the idea of forming College of Banking and Finance in the province. He further stated that PU has also offered M.Phil. and regular Ph.D. programmes for further development in the education sector. He disclosed that the university is planning to introduce Chinese, Japanese, Spanish language classes while it is already offering courses in Arabic, French and Kashmiri language.
ESSAY CONTEST: PU held an essay competition, in which about 60 students of MBA participated to write down on 'Trade between India and Pakistan'. Later cash prizes were awarded to the winners.
Seerat Conference: PU Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre organised a Seerat Conference. Director of the Centre Professor Jamila Shaukat and Member National Assembly Samiya Raheel Qazi spoke on the occasion.
