KARACHI: The government firmly believes in the freedom of the press. This was stated by the Governor of Sindh, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan.
He said on Tuesday that freedom of the press is vital for the progress and development in the country and for strengthening of the democracy.
Ebad also referred to the role, contributions as well as sacrifices of the journalists.
He said that books written by senior journalists help foster understanding among the people regarding the national issues.
Senior journalist, Salik Majeed, called on the Sindh Governor and presented his book to him.
Ebad described the book as quite informative as well as a useful addition.
