imageISLAMABAD: Consumer Price Index (CPI) based inflation rate in month of November witnessed an increase of 2.7 percent as compared to same month of last year.

On month-on-month basis the CPI inflation increased by 0.6 percent in November as compared to the previous month, said the latest data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistic here Tuesday.

According the data average inflation rate during the period from July-November 2015-16 over same period of last year registered an increased by 1.86 percent.

Sensitive Price Index (SPI) inflation on year on year basis was increased by 2.1 percent in November as compared to decrease of 0.1 percent a month earlier.

On month on month basis, it increased by 1.1 percent in November, 2015 as compared to previous month, the data added.

Wholesale Price Index (WPI) on year on year basis decreased by 1.7 percent in last month as compared to the same period of last year.

WPI inflation on month on month basis increased by 0.01 percent in November as compared to previous month of current financial year.

Core inflation, measured by non-food, non-energy increased by 4 percent on year on year basis during the month of November, 2015 as compared to same month of last financial year.

Core CPI, was increased by 0.1 percent during last month but it decreased when compared with the same moth of last financial year, the data reveled.

Core inflation measured by 20 percent weighted trimmed mean or CPI trimmed witnessed an increase of 2.9 percent on year on year basis during the month of November and increased by 0.2 percent on month on month basis.

Top commodities which recorded increase in their prices during last month included chicken, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, eggs, beans, vegetables, tea, pulse mash, pulse gram, fish, wheat flour, wheat, grams and dry fruits.

The commodities with decreasing price trend included fresh fruit, gur, sugar, rice and cooking oil.

The non-food items which recorded increase in average prices during the period under review including ready made woolen garments, motor fuel, construction wage rates, doctors fee and kerosene oil.
