KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government, Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that it was not justified to do politics over natural disasters and miseries of the people.
He said this while talking to media at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital on Sunday where he enquired about the health of the people affected by sun-stroke.
The KMC Administrator Roshan Shaikh, Commissioner Karachi Shoib Siddiqi and other officers also present on the occasion, an official statement said here. Memon said that the government declared emergency in government hospitals and treatment were being provided to affected people.
He said doctors and paramedical staff were available round- the-clock for serving the people admitted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Heat stroke affected people were being brought daily to all government and private hospitals, he said.
He said the government launched media campaign to inform the people to save themselves from heat stroke while the people can contact the KMC and Commissioner Karachi through helpline. He said action was taken against ghost employees and the government stopped salaries of 140 Abbasi Shaheed Hospital employees while show-cause notices were issued to 33 others including 27 doctors.
