ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday announced to hold by-election in National Assembly constituency NA-108 Mandi Bahauddin-I on June 08, 2015.
According to schedule announced by the Commission, a public notice by the Returning Officer will be issued on April 30 while date for filing of nomination papers will be May 04 and May 05, 2015.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on May 06 and May 07 while dates for filing of appeals with Election Tribunals against the decisions of Returning Officers regarding acceptance or rejection of nomination papers have been set for May 12, 2015.
The Tribunals shall decide the appeals by May 15 while last date for withdrawal of candidature will be May 18. Revised list of candidates shall be published on May 18 while polling in this National Assembly constituency shall be held on June 08, 2015.
It is worth mentioning that this seat had fallen vacant after de-notification of Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry by the Election Commission in pursuance of a decision by the Supreme Court.
The Commission has also appointed Regional Election Commissioner Rawalpindi as Dostrict Returning Officer, Regional Election Commissioner Gujranwala as Returning Officer and Assistant Commissioner Mandi Bahauddin, Executive District Officer Education, Mandi Bahauddin and District Election Commissioner Mandi Bahauddin as Assistant Returning Officers.
