ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday ordered to club identical petitions filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor against acquittal of former president Asif Ali Zardari by an accountability court, directing to fix the case for hearing.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Noor ul Haq N Qureshi and Justice Shaukat Aziz Saddiqui heard the case.
The prosecutor pleaded that the NAB court, during the proceeding, had not sought evidences against Asif Ali Zardari in two references.
He apprised the court that two appeals were filed against the acquittal decision, out of which one appeal was not fixed for hearing so far.
After hearing the brief arguments, the court ordered to club both the appeals and fix the case for hearing.
