imageKARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan through a statement has called the general populace in PPP's public gathering scheduled for October 18 as "living corpses and goats" for which he must tender an apology to the poor people of the country, labourers, women and students forthwith for humiliating them.

He said that such statements would not be borne which humiliate the common men. He must take back his statement and apologise to the people immediately, Sharjeel said.

Addressing a press conference along with PPP leaders and workers at Bagh-e-Jinnah regarding October 18 public gathering he said that everyone has right to criticise in politics but no one has permission to make joke of anybody.

He said that PPP did not take dictation from anyone or endorse the culture of government employees in public gatherings.

Briefing on the preparations and security arrangements regarding PPP public meeting on October 18 he said that preparations were in full swing across the metropolis. A sea of PPP workers, Jialas and supporters is expected in the gathering.

Sharjeel said that PPP is going to hold biggest gathering in the history of the country and Bagh-e-Jinnah is largest ground of the country in this regard.

He claimed that roads and streets of the mega city would be shortened because of arrival of the party supporters.

PPP's workers, Jialas and populace are anxious to listen to the address of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he said.

People see Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto's face in Bilawal, he added.

PPP remembers October 18 actually as a day of martyrs. Bilawal would speak about the incident of October 18 and declare PPP's programme, he said.

Sindh government would provide foolproof security to the public gathering and also all those rallies which will be coming to participate in the main gathering as it provides to other public meetings of other parties, he added.

Apart from snap checking and other security measures a large number of PPP volunteers would also be present there to avoid any untoward situation, he said.

Later, the Sindh Minister for Information reviewed security arrangements on the ground.
