imageLAHORE: Pakistan Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique Monday said the PTI leadership was staging protests on the roads for their own agenda instead of resolving issues through parliament.

Talking to party workers at his constituency, he said the government had already constituted a committee for electoral reforms and a representative of the PTI was its member then, he questioned why it still wanted to hold long march against the democratic government.

He said the nation was fighting a war against terrorism in different areas including Wazirastan but some power hungry politicians were striving to harm a democratically elected government instead of supporting it in the war against terrorism.

The minister advised Imran Khan to focus his attention in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where about one million people had been Internally displaced from their houses for sovereignty of the country and they need help of the KPK government.

He alleged the PTI leaders were frightened by the popularity of the PML-N government as it was successfully working on economic revolution and investment of billions of dollars was pouring in to the country through Sino-Pak economic corridor.

He said the PTI had failed to fulfil expectations of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and now it wanted to hide its weaknesses under the agitation against the federal government by exploiting non issues.

He urged all political parties to work for stability and democracy as it was need of time and leg-pulling of the government could damage the interests of the country.

He said that rallies and protests were right of the political parties but Imran Khan should not divide the nation by turning the Independence Day into the day of protest.

He said the whole nation should be united under one flag on August 14 to send a message of unity to the other nations.
