ISLAMABAD: Fast bowler Umar Gull made an impressive come-back in the international cricket adding the missing spark to the Pakistani bowling which helped them winning the third ODI against Sri Lanka at Sharjah, opined former fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz.
Talking to APP on Monday, the legendary fast bowler said Pakistan was failing to strike early in the first two ODIs but the inclusion of Umar Gull had helped them resolving the problem.
"With two early strikes Gull tightened the grip of Pakistan over the match, after their batsmen placed a mammoth total on the scoreboard," Sarfraz said.
He said playing Gull in the team in place of Sohail Tanvir was an excellent decision as the latter was not delivering in the second and third spells.
Then you have someone bowling for you at the depth, curtailing runs and taking wickets, which was missing in the previous matches, he mentioned.
Sarfraz, who was the master of reverse swing at his time, lauded Hafeez's inning saying that the T20 skipper played a sensible match-winning knock.
"The way Hafeez constructed his inning was worth seeing," he added.
He opined that Bilawal should be given a nap and advocated the inclusion of Anwar Ali in the team to test his skills.
Responding to a question, the former bowler said Hafeez was having some communication problems with the youngsters resulting in run outs in almost every match.
The coach should fix the problem as in crucial situations during a match run outs could become turning points, he concluded.
