NEW YORK: The prices of US Treasury securities rose on Tuesday but pared their gains ever so slightly after the Federal Open Market Committee released a new statement on monetary policy at the end of its December meeting.
The benchmark 10-year Treasury note was last trading 8/32 higher in price and yielding 1.99 percent, down from 2.02 percent at Monday's close. The 30-year Treasury bond was up 14/32 in price for a yield of 3.03 percent, down from 3.06 percent late on Monday.
