imageThe micro-blogging platform, Twitter wants to attract more followers to its network, and in doing so it has to explore newer frontiers, and this is what Twitter is up to by coming to your TV.

The US-based company is launching an app for live-streaming video and is coming on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and the Microsoft's Xbox One, reported CNET.

"Twitter has always been a great complement to TV, and now fans can enjoy even more premium video with live Tweets – and the best content on Twitter – right from their TVs," said Anthony Noto, Twitter's chief financial officer, in a statement. "We're excited to introduce this new experience to people, without requiring a paywall or having to log in to Twitter."

The free app will be available to users even not having a Twitter account or pay TV subscription, and will feature content from the MLB, NBA, Pac 12 Networks, Campus Insiders, Cheddar, and Bloomberg News, reported Tubefilter. It will feature Twitter Videos, Vines, and Periscope streams as well.

The Twitter app for Apple TV is available globally through the App Store for Apple TV, whereas for Xbox One users, the app will be available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, and the United States. And lastly Twitter for Amazon Fire TV and are available in the United States and the United Kingdom.
