  • The PTI leader said the governments were preparing to fight the virus but the Sindh cabinet passed a subsidy of Rs 2.5 billion for captive energy project owners. Rs. 4 billion are being given as subsidy to sugar mills. These are projects of Omni Group.

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Central Vice President and parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh  Sunday alleged that the Sindh government instead of providing facilities to fight the coronavirus was spreading panic among people due to its  mismanagement, especially in healthcare sector.

Addressing a news conference here at the Insaf House, flanked by PTI MPAs Dua Bhutto, Dr Saeed Afridi, Kareem Bux Gabol and other leaders  he said that he saluted the journalists for their efforts to fight against pandemic.

He said like the Punjab government, the Sindh government should also announce a special package for the journalists.

He said there were no proper health facilities even in government's hospitals like JPMC and Civil Hospital Karachi.

He said there was acute water shortage from Karachi to Tharparkar. Eighty percent of RO plants in Thar installed with a cost of over Rs 7.5 billion were faulty and in non-working condition, he added.

He said the provincial government and its ministers were confused and clueless.

Haleem Adil said that the Tiger Force was non political and consisted of many social personalities.

He said over 10,000 FIRs were lodged against citizens for so-called violation of lockdown.

The PTI leader pointed out in whole world, the governments were preparing to fight the virus, but the Sindh cabinet passed a subsidy of Rs 2.5 billion for captive energy project owners. Rs. 4 billion are being given as subsidy to sugar mills. These are projects of Omni Group.

The PTI Central Vice President said in Sindh, tractor scheme had also been launched and contracts of Rs. 6 billion were also given silently in the irrigation sector. A new tender is issued for Tori embankment, despite the fact the previous contract of this embankment remained incomplete.

Haleem Adil condemned the propagenda against Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and termed the it as false. He also prayed for early recovery of Rashid Rabbani.

He observed data of needy people just a click away however the Sindh government was not ready to distribute ration among these needy people. The needy and deserving people are receiving financial assistance from Ehsaas Program of the federal government.

He said the ordinance by the Sindh government was sent to the Governor for political point scoring. Gas and electricity were federal chapters, he added.

On the occasion, PTI leader Hunaid Lakhani said they have distributed ration in different districts of Sindh.

He said in Tharparkar RO plants were faulty.
