  • China and Pakistan have signed various agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOUs).

Prime Minister Imran Khan met on Wednesday Chinese President Xi Jinping to hold delegation level talks.

The PM is representing Pakistan whereas, President Jinping is leading his country. Both the leaders discussed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, regional situation and matters of mutual interests. During the meeting, the PM thanked the president and the Chinese government for its 'principled stance' on the Kashmir issue.

The premier particularly mentioned Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's stance on the issue at the United Nations General Assembly. The PM also briefed Xi about the current situation Pakistan, sharing that it had come out of a difficult economic situation.

 

 

On Tuesday, the premier met Chinese PM Li Keqiang. The PM apprised his counterpart about actions undertaken recently to fast-track CPEC projects and to push the development momentum in Gawadar. "The PM emphasized that expeditious completion of CPEC projects was the foremost priority of his government as this transformational project was pivotal to accelerating Pakistan’s economic development and regional prosperity," a statement by the PM House said.

The two leaders witnessed signing of various agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) aimed at deepening Pakistan-China ties in a range of socio-economic sectors. The two counterparts also discussed regional security situation, including serious human rights and humanitarian situation in the Indian-occupied Kashmir.
