  • Pakistan has summoned Gaurav Ahluwalia to lodge protest over Indian firing.
  • India's unprovoked across LoC firing killed 50-year-old Noor Jahan.
  • Pakistan has urged India to respect ceasefire arrangement ‘in letter and spirit’.

Pakistan has once again summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia to lodge a protest over recent ceasefire violation by Indian troops along the Line of Control (LoC).

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Spokesperson Mohammad Faisal condemned yet another unprovoked ceasefire violation by the Indian forces across LoC. On October 1, 50-year-old Noor Jahan was killed while three others were injured due to Indian firing in Nezapir and Bagsar Sectors of LoC.

"The Indian occupation forces along the LoC and Working boundary have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars, and automatic weapons, which still continues," the statement read.

Pakistan termed India's deliberate target of civilization populated areas as 'deplorable and contrary to human dignity'. The press release also said that India has continuously violated the ceasefire from 2017 when the Indian forces committed 1970 ceasefire violations.

The FO spokesperson urged India to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement ‘in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary’.

On 28 and September 29, 60-year-old Salamat Bibi and 13-year-old Zeeshan Ayub were killed by India’s unprovoked firing in Nikial and Rakhchikri Sectors of LOC. A woman in Nikial Sector and two civilians, including a woman in Rakhchikri Sector were also injured.
