Pakistan opening batsman Sharjeel Khan arrived at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Monday to meet the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) anti-corruption unit on his rehabilitation program.

The Pakistani cricketer had earlier written a letter to the PCB, giving his consent to participate in the PCB's rehabilitation program. Sharjeel was suspended and sent back home during the second edition of the Habib Bank Limited's Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Dubai in February 2017, after he was found involved in spot-fixing.

Later on, Sharjeel was banned for five years, with half of his five-year ban suspended, by the anti-corruption tribunal of the PCB. The ban on Sharjeel ended on August 11, 2019, after which he would be required to undergo the PCB's rehabilitation program to enable him to resume his cricketing career.

While participating in the rehabilitation program, Sharjeel will have to accept his role in the spot-fixing case and publically admit his mistake. He will also have to participate in the anti-corruption lectures to young cricketers.

The opening batsman has represented Pakistan in one Test, 25 One-day Internationals (ODIs) and 15 Twenty20 Internationals.
