Pakistan top order batsman Babar Azam is enjoying his good form in England and says that he is ‘pretty confident’ for the upcoming matches, including the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.

“I am feeling pretty good and I aim to continue with the form,” said Babar after he smashed his first Twenty20 hundred to lead his side’s 58-run win over Leicestershire in a tour match.

Azam hit two sixes and 13 fours in his 63-ball innings of 101 at Grace Road. He put on an opening stand of 104 with fellow opener Fakhar Zaman, who scored 52 from 30 balls, as the visitors reached 200 for six in their 20-overs.

Azam said: “Arriving early [in England] helped a lot as we get to know about the conditions, how to bat and make plans... I am pretty confident, our side too has gelled well as every player is in form and is performing well.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan is set to play five-match ODI series against England from May 5. The squad will then kick off two warm-up World Cup games against Afghanistan on May 24 and Bangladesh on May 26, before taking on the West Indies in their first World Cup match in Nottingham on May 31.
