LAHORE: At least five people were killed while 953 sustained injuries in 854 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Out of total injured, 595 were seriously injured requiring shifting to different hospitals, whereas, 353 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site by rescue medical teams, said Rescue 1122 spokesman.
The analysis showed that 403 drivers, 19 juvenile drivers, 121 pedestrians and 429 passengers were among the victims of these road accidents.
The statistics showed that 214 accidents were reported in Lahore which affected 214 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by 88 in Faisalabad with 99 victims and Multan at third with 65 accidents and 71 victims.
As many as, 679 motorcycles, 126 rickshaws, 98 cars, 49 vans, 16 buses, 30 trucks and 82 other vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in the accidents.
